About us
The SV 1845 cricket department emerged in May 2024 with the merger of Stuttgart Cricket Verein with the SV1845 Esslingen.
he two clubs were already on friendly terms beforehand, as the SCV had its home ground at SV´s premisses since 2014.
Since its foundation in 2011, SCV had developed into the largest cricket club in BWCV and in 2024 it was finally time
for a new chapter. In Esslingen, we will have 2 brand new training pitches available from 2025, which promise even more
opportunities for successful development.
In 2011 we started out with a few men who struggled to field a complete team,
but we now also offer women's, children's and youth cricket.
Over the years, we have won numerous titles at national and local level in all
three divisions, including the gold medal in the German Women's Championship,
the runner-up in the men's championship and the titel of BW U16 and U12 Championship.
Achievements
We field 3 men's teams of different levels: German Bundesliga, Regionalliga and Verbandsliga.
The Teams
Since 2019, our women have been part of the Bundesliga team "BW-United", in which women from 4 clubs
have joined forces.
BW-United
Our youth department appeared in 2017 and is constantly growing. It now has almost 50 members aged between 5 and 17.
The younger ones train and play softball, while we offer hardball training from around 11 years of age.
Both groups compete in numerous tournaments and leagues Youth Cricket
As we have set ourselves the goal of promoting cricket in Germany, we are also involved
in other projects, for example by organising school events, taster days and tournaments.
From 2016, for example, we have organised softball tournaments to offer non-club cricket
fans a forum for an exciting day of competition. In 2020, we expanded this format to
include a youth tournament. Our last big project was the international "Southside Youth Tournament"
in September 2024.
In June 2022,the WLSB named us one of around 40 Stützpunktvereine for integration
in Baden-Württemberg. SV 1845 Esslingen is now also involved. Integration is a particular concern
for us as a largely migrant department.
First and foremost, of course, we promote sporting skills, but also community and cohesion.
We pay particular attention to incentivising volunteer work, successful networking and forging
new pathways.
